I’m a white man who has benefited from unequal opportunity structures in America. I view education as one of the most powerful systems we have for shifting power and making this country a more empathic and equitable place. And so, since 2004, I’ve been working to improve racial equity in the US public education system.
Through my consulting, I help organizations who are working toward similar goals get unstuck. Sometimes teams need coaching and group process facilitation. Other times they need research, analysis and space for reflection. Other times they need strategic planning, communications support, project management or help developing and deploying a new product. In my 10 plus years of consulting I’ve done all of these things to help move us all closer to collective liberation and racial equity.
My consulting practice is informed by my life experiences as a life-partner, dad, brother, middle-child, high school English teacher, mixed-methods researcher, grant maker, DJ, writer, runner, and musician. I like to explore messy intersections of research, policy and practice with a focus on student-centered design and continuous improvement. I currently consult with values-aligned clients who share my commitment to improving racial equity and changing the opportunity structure in the US.

Center for Equitable Higher Education (CEHE) at Cal State Long Beach
CEHE ensures that the California higher education systems prioritize student basic needs and implement equitable and effective programs so that students thrive and graduate.
Clear Moon helped the CEHE team to develop a new strategy and provides ongoing support with development so the organization can grow the impact of its work.
Aspen Institute Opportunity Youth Forum
The Opportunity Youth Forum (OYF) is a network of over forty local collaborations in urban, rural, and tribal communities across the United States that seeks to build and scale reconnection pathways that achieve better outcomes in education, employment and overall well-being for opportunity youth.
Clear Moon is partnering with the OYF team to build case studies of efforts to improve racial equity in higher education through the use of belonging, meaning, wellbeing and purpose (BMWP) strategies.
College Success Foundation
College Success Foundation is a national nonprofit organization that helps underserved, low-income students achieve their dream of a college education through our proven model of success.
